Japanese Style Courtyard Garden

This walled courtyard garden was inspired by the design of the client’s modern low level house with its Japanese style doors and windows. The design makes the most of the old flint and brick walls and existing pergola. Black painted trellis screens, and a planting scheme using typical Japanese garden plants such as acers, small conifers and bamboo as well as grasses and climbing evergreens, has created a simple low maintenance garden oasis. A water feature adds sound and movement. This project also included a separate design for the client’s front garden, as shown in the photos.
